Cookie and Tracking Policy

This policy explains how Profiling.app uses cookies and similar storage. The short version: we keep this to the bare minimum, and we set no analytics or advertising cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie consent banner — we do not use the kind of cookies that require one.

What we use

Our own storage — strictly necessary, no cookies

To keep you signed in, we store two things in your browser, not as cookies:

  • a sign-in (refresh) token in your browser's localStorage, and
  • a short-lived access token held in memory only.

These are strictly necessary to operate the Service — without them you could not stay logged in. Under EU rules, strictly-necessary storage of this kind does not require consent, and we use no cookies for it.

Analytics — cookieless

We measure aggregate usage with Umami, which we host ourselves. Umami sets no cookies and does not build a profile of you or track you across other websites. It records anonymous, aggregate page-level usage only.

No advertising, no tracking

We use no advertising cookies, no marketing cookies, and no cross-site tracking. We do not sell or share data for advertising.

Third-party cookies

One third party sets its own cookies when you interact with it:

  • Stripe, our payment processor, loads its own scripts to take card payments securely and to help prevent fraud, and sets its own cookies as part of that. These are set and controlled by Stripe under Stripe's own policies, and appear only in the payment flow. See Stripe's privacy and cookie information.

We do not control Stripe's cookies and cannot disable them while still taking payment securely.

Managing storage

You can clear your browser's localStorage and cookies at any time through your browser settings. Clearing the sign-in token will simply log you out. Blocking Stripe's cookies may prevent payment from working.

We will update this page if our use of cookies or storage changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
